Hello My Friends,
In this week’s #SaturdaySolutions we discuss getting more done in less time. A common question I get is how are you able to get so much done in such a short amount of time?
Well there are a lot of reasons, including long hours, but there are also some great tools, tricks and techniques that I use to help speed up my work and automate a lot of processes. In this week’s Q & A I will share some of my best secrets with you.
As far as Tools are concerned there are a few that I use each and every day to really help me stay ahead of the curve and I will go over a few tools with you.
It seems there are always 10 projects going on at the same time, and the same # of thoughts. To stay focused and on track I write all of my Tasks, Projects, To Do’s and Notes in a single place which helps me clear my head and focus on whatever task I am doing at the moment. To help me with this I use Microsoft One Note, which is an amazing tool that allows me to create an organized folder with every item, screen shot, thought, website link, to do list and project scope. This is an amazing Free tool by Microsoft that I have found to be extremely helpful in getting more things done in less time. You can download it for free directly from Microsoft here: https://www.onenote.com/
In my work I often my share my screen, or parts of my screen, and be able to mark on it quite frequently. While I have used many tools to do this, the best one I have found is Techmiths SnagIt, which allows me to quickly snap, markup and send my screenshots to anyone within just seconds. This tool alone saves me hours a day. You can find this took directly from the Techsmith website here: http://bit.ly/SnagitScreenSharing
Another great took that allows me to easily switch between my desktop and laptop without every having to move or copy files is the Free DropBox file sharing. You have seen me discuss this in many videos and I always save all of my work in my DropBox files. Not only does it keep a backup of every version of my files, I can share any files or folders with anyone using just a link. The Free version will get you up to 2Gb, and for just $10.00 USD a month you can get up to 1 Terabyte, so it’s a great deal.
You can check out all of the details right here: https://www.dropbox.com/
As you have seen I make videos quite often. I could not do this quite as quickly and effectively without some amazing software. While I have tried many, I have found that Camtasia Studio is by far the best screen recorder and video editor around. This software allows me easily mix videos, sound, graphics and text to make professional videos. The learning curve was pretty quick as well, so I am able to put out new videos quite often. You can learn more about this software here: http://bit.ly/CamtasiaStudioRecorder
If you have noticed when I write code in some of the videos, the code seems to write itself at times. And in some instances it actually does. To achieve that I use a great software called AutoHotkey to automate my VBA programing as much as possible, so that when I write an If statement, the “End If” always appears. I do this with many lines of code so that I can cut my programming time in half. You can get AutoHotkey from here for free: https://www.autohotkey.com/ This comes with a blank sheet so you can create all your own automated scripts. However if you would like the script that I use to automate you VBA coding like I do, I offer this as a FREE bonus to everyone who enrolls in my Advanced Dashboard Reports Masterclass here (I also have a $50.00 OFF Coupon available for the next few days): http://bit.ly/DashboardMasterclass_50DollarsOff
These are just a few of the tricks and techniques that I use everyday. I would love to hear what you are using to speed up your work and make better use of your time, so please share your solutions in the comments below.
I hope you have enjoyed this Solutions Saturday and thanks so much for your continued support, likes & shares.
